I’m half-Dutch, half-Taiwanese, and live with my wife in humid Washington, DC. I aggressively follow pop culture, science and politics.
Carnegie Mellon is my alma mater. I’m nearly obsessed with what makes a good joke, and why people laugh. I’ve been to 25 different countries, and mostly desperate to go back. I also know an uncomfortable amount of card tricks.
The nickname "the Astral J" originated in high school, where I was competing in NASA's International Space Settlement Design Competition.
